An Introduction
It was in 1873 that Dr William H Schuessler, a German biochemist, discovered the presence of bio chemics, certain essential minerals that the body requires and their effects.

He discovered that the body is composed of a perfectly balanced quantity of water, organic matter and inorganic elements such as iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium, phosphorous and quartz. He propounded that any imbalance of these minerals in the tissues could lead to disease affecting those particular tissues.

The solution therefore lay in providing the missing minerals to the tissues so that balance is restored. This simple system of cure is the basis of the Biochemic System of Treatment.

Method
Dr Schuessler’s method of treatment involved a small number of harmless combinations (or ‘salts’) of these minerals to cure a variety of minor ailments.

This cell-salt treatment helped replenish what the body lacked and required as opposed to suppressing the ailment with chemicals and medicines.

Backed by years of research, Dr Schuessler proved that by administering specially prepared remedies containing the inorganic salts in finely subdivided form, it was possible to correct the deficiencies.

The treatment involves just 12 remedies, each one dealing with one of the important inorganic cell salts found in the human body.
